Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (Α.DI.P.)


 
The Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (A.DI.P.) is the supervisory and coordinating authority of the Quality Assurance System in Greece.
 
A.DI.P. aims at:
 
"Guaranteeing the transparency of the evaluation procedures and its objectives are: i) to support higher education institutions in order to implement procedures which aim at ensuring and improving quality in higher education, ii) to inform the Government and  Higher Education Institutions about modern international developments and trends in relevant subjects, and iii) to promote research in this area" (Article 10 § 2 Law 3374/2005).
 
The objective of A.DI.P. is to develop and apply an integrated Quality Assurance system which will gather information about the achievements and work carried out by the Higher Education Institutions in Greece. In addition, A.DI.P. will gather and consolidate critical information in order to guide the Government to effectively improve the Greek Higher Education System.
 
The role of A.DI.P. is neither to intervene not to audit the operation of the Higher Education System in Greece. In order to achieve its goals, A.DI.P. cooperates closely with the Greek Higher Education Institutions and supports their efforts to improve the quality of the provided educational services.
 
A.DI.P. is by definition a multi – member, independent institution. A.DI.P. is composed by senior civil servants, who are nominated by the Higher Education Institutions and cover the entire spectrum of scientific disciplines of the Higher Education System of the country. The evaluation procedures, the operation rules and the quality assurance procedures of A.DI.P. are transparent and open to public audity.
