Mission of the Quality Assurance Unit (MO.DI.P.) of the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Patras


Role
 
In each Greek Higher Education Institution (A.E.I or T.E.I) the Quality Assurance Unit (MO.DI.P) is responsible for the coordination and support of the Quality Assurance and Evaluation processes. MO.DI.P. constitutes the main coordinating body of all the Quality Assurance and Evaluation processes (Law 3374/2005, article 4).
 
Mission

The mission of the Quality Assurance Unit (MO.DI.P) of the TEI of Patras, is the coordination and support of the Internal and External Evaluation processes of the Institution’s Academic Units, based on the criteria/goals set by the Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (A.DI.P) for the Higher Education.
 
Aim
 
The aim of MO.DI.P is the design and implementation of an Integrated Quality System for the TEI of Patras, which will satisfy the present and future needs of the Institution, while being compatible with the demands of the National Institutional Framework for the evaluation of the Higher Education Institutions (Law 3374/2005). The Integrated Quality System of the TEI of Patras should meet the developmental policy of the Institution, as voted by its governing bodies. The Integrated Quality System of the TEI of Patras will include processes and indicators which will monitor the Institution’s progress, its rate of improvement and its weaknesses.
 
Furthermore, MO.DI.P. is responsible:

  • For promoting issues, procedures, activities and for reinforcing initiatives of clear added value related to the quality of the education and to the quality of the provided services
  • For the analysis of educational data with the aim of improving Institution’s operational quality
  • For informing and training those commissioned to participate in the Internal Evaluation Group (OM.E.A) of each department and for organizing such activities
  • For developing and disseminating specific guidelines, methodologies and tools to each Academic Department. Specifically, it is responsible for the development of automated mechanisms for the recording, organizing and data mining processes, which will not require the intervention and additional effort from the Institution’s staff.
  • For developing and supporting an internal information system to the Institution, which will include supporting procedures for the organization of evaluation and will enable: i) safe input of standardized data, ii) reliable management of the results, and iii) development of reports in an internet environment. This internal information system should be compatible with the operations, the directions and the standards issued by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (A.DI.P.).
  • Developing the methodological infrastructure of the Evaluation System
  • Creating archives of Evaluation Indicators per Academic Unit
